The Oregon State Legislature is about to convene, and it’s time to get active! Are you willing to support our OSU legislative agenda? Please join us in Salem on Wednesday, March 1 for Beaver Caucus Day at the Capitol. Beaver Caucus members will gather at the State Capitol to meet with legislators and urge them to continue their investment in OSU’s future.
We have identified three key issues we’ll advocate for on March 1:
- An overall increase for university operating funds to help OSU invest in students and hold down tuition increases
- New funding for the OSU Cascades campus and the Quality Food and Beverage Building
- Funding for critical on-campus research and our OSU statewide programs
We will meet in the Capitol at noon to discuss strategy, messaging, and logistics for the day (box lunch provided). Never met with a legislator? No problem! We’ll show you how it’s done, and you’ll go around to your meetings with 3-4 other Beaver Caucus members as a team. In the evening, we will host a reception for legislators at the Salem Convention Center. President Ray will attend the evening reception.
Here’s our agenda for the day:
Beaver Caucus Day at the Capitol — Wednesday, March 1
Noon – 1:00 p.m. — Meet in Room 243 of the Capitol Building for lunch, strategy and messaging session
1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. — Meetings with legislators
4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. — Reception with legislators and President Ray at the Salem Convention Center — 200 N. Commercial St. SE, Salem
